Background Image on Home Screen

Hello All - I have an app that would have background image in line with the theme of the app. What is the ideal size of the BG image and also since it takes time

to load the images, what is the best way to handle the loading of the image.

 

also I may have other pages on the app with background images so when we navigate, how to handle the loading so that ux does not get impacted. 

any guidance or suggestions is appreciated

    Think about the device that the app user will use to open app. Sometime you don't have to put full 8K resolution image to the background, you just need FullHD. Try to use some image compress tool to reduce image file size to reduce loading time.

     

    I once use a high resolution SVG animated image as background. It works fine on my machine, but for lower spec PC, it's laggy. So I switched back to some static image instead
