I am try to build a flow which should only trigger when a file is renamed in my SharePoint library.  I have not been able to figure out the trigger condition to use for this.  Any thoughts?

Hi @tlangfor, Have you tried 'When a file is created or modified (properties only)?' I did a test on my end where I did the following:

    1. Create a test document library on my sharepoint site called 'Flow to trigger when a file is renamed'
    2. Uploaded a file called '04-Microsoft Power Automate Final 1'
    3. Created a Power Automate flow with the following trigger:

    4. Renamed my file on Sharepoint which successfully triggered the flow.

    Hope it helps!

I was using the "When an item or a file is modified" trigger for folder renames for 8 months. Today I checked, and neither the "When a file is created or modified (properties only)" trigger nor my previously working "When an item or a file is modified" trigger fires on a folder rename. They do fire on a folder color change tho, so the settings are fine.

Is there any new solution to trigger on a rename or is it just not possible anymore?

This is likely one of the passing trigger issues where it simply doesn't trigger when polling SharePoint. Give it a day or two and it should start working again with no indication of what the issue is.

I don't know why SP/PA interactions do this and it is infrequent, but not unheard of.
