Dear all,

I'm trying to create a global variable with the simple "Set(TimerStart,true)" put in OnStart of the apps.

However, it returns the result of "This formula has side effects and cannot be evaluated".

Any idea what I did wrongly?

Appreciate your help.

Your code if ok. Have you tested for instance TimerStart in a label?

Interesting. Please restart the App and also try same code on Onselect of a button. Remember to remove the code from OnStart before you try on Onselect

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I've tried many of my code in the Timer and OnSelect button, they work just fine.
Function that I've tried: Set(), Collect(), ClearCollect().

All gets the "side effect" issue when I put them into OnStart, OnNew, OnView, OnEdit
This is somehow become a very strange "bug" to me ...

Hi @DangDang

To confirm that this isn't a glitch in the designer, can you try renaming TimerStart to something else, and then rename it back again to see that makes a difference?

Hi @timl,
I've tried to use many names, even with the dummy names which I'm sure it cannot be the same with any of default variable. I've even erased the app and create new, but issue still remain in the new app.
