Updating a OneDrive Excel file if The Sharepoint Excel file contents changes?

(0) ShareShare

I have an Excel file on Sharepoint that is occasionally updated by co-workers.

Is it possible for my local (OneDrive) copy to update to the same contents when the Sharepoint Excel is changed?

Where would I start with this? I can't see an "on-change" or similar trigger. Would I have to revert to checking every X minutes?

Thank you.

    Hi @Pete_81 ,

You could use 'When an item or a file is modified' as the trigger.

    Hi there,

You'd want to use a trigger of "When Item or File is Modified", and point it at the Excel file in SharePoint.

Then, you'll use "Get File Content", and point it at the Trigger output.

Then you'll add that content (Create File) into OneDrive in the same location, with the same name.

Hi. Thanks for the response but that trigger is looking at Share Point Lists and their contents.

I want the trigger to look at the contents of an Excel sheet.

I'm currently digging through the Power Automate triggers but can't see anything related to Excel.

    Hi  @Pete_81 ,

Updating a OneDrive Excel file if The Sharepoint Excel file contents changes?

Based on your description, your file should be saved in a SharePoint library. If so, any modifications you make in this Excel will trigger the 'When an item or a file is modified' trigger.

    Best Regards,
