Flow updating multiple rows

Hello Power Automate community! I need a bit of help on a flow I’m trying to work out. We have a new starter spreadsheet where new starters are assigned to specific staff members depending on which department they’re in. All I want to do is have a flow that will send an email to that particular staff member to let them know that they have been assigned a new starter.

So far I have been able to get it to send the email to the specific staff member, but the flow kept repeating. After some digging around I found that I needed a second “processed” column, which could show as processed once the email has been sent.  The flow then would only trigger if the processed column states “no”. The problem I have now is that this only runs for the first row, so if it sees a row with processed in it won’t run on any of the rows below even if they are marked as a “no”. Has anyone been able to make a flow work for multiple rows?

One of the "features" of Flows is that when the Flow updates an item, this will cause a new instance of the Flow to trigger. So, I assume that you current Flow performs an update to the item.

One way to prevent this is to use the Trigger Setting called Trigger Conditions.  In that, a valid condition has to exist, else the Flow is suppressed, meaning that it does NOT execute, and it leaves no trace that it even tried.

Another way is to use a Condition, and with that you can check for a value, and if true, you can execute a Terminate Action, with the value of Cancel.

At my organization, we do ALL development with a specific DevUser. This way, that DevUser owns everything, but also, when the Flow writes anything, the ModifiedBy is saved as the DevUser. Then the TriggerCondition can trap for that user and suppress the infinite loops.

    Hi,

You're going to need to provide some context and description what you are trying to do here; a picture of a PNG will not be enough.
