I am currently installing the CoE Starter Kit in our Tenant. Especially the developer compliance center seems to solve a lot of our problems. However, I cannot seem to find real documentation on it. For instance, what do the fields under "support details" mean?
I need to be able to explain to the makers, what they should fill in. I cannot do that however, if I do not know what "Access Management" means. What kind of information is required here?
I can guess what business justification and business impact means. Maybe even "dependencies" (although this leaves much room for interpretation) But why is there no documentation to be found?
Would really appreciate some help.
Please share any requirements around documentation needs here https://github.com/microsoft/powerapps-tools/tree/master/Administration/CoEStarterKit to ensure the team can pick those up
@Carsten_Growth ,
Thank you for your reply. This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for and that I would have expected to be included in some sort of documentation document provided with the starting kit.
I also discovered yesterday, that one(!) of the maker requirements in the entity also has a brief description:
(Found this using the CDS connector in Flow)
I would like this information to be more accessible.
The support details section should enable the Governance team to mitigate the risks of this application in terms of being in the need of:
- setting up a new environment for this app
- creating or modifying a DLP policy (or more) for this app to run
- ensuring licensing for a premium connector or a 3rd party connector
Therefore as a guidance:
Business justification should describe why the app exists, which cost-center might be taken if additional licensing is needed (budget),
Access Management should provide information about a business org group or individual users who needs access to the app and if there´s a co-ownership (another indidivual user or group who should have access to modify/edit the app)
Dependencies should list all the connectors taken into account when creating the app as well as a special security group, if the app deals with this to enable features inside an app. Also if it is an app created to be hosted inside Teams the Team name + channel name the app should be added to should be provided here.
The drop-downs should be self-explained. If not, let us know
