Guide me how to create a small app

Hi guys,

Since I'm new to this I would like to have some input from the experts and I have created some sort of rea-world scenario below!

Let's say my company have 5 offices with each office having its own dedicated "it-guy".

We would like to build up a central "database" of the inventory for our company, but we would like each sites "it-guy" to be able to manage its sites data but not other sites data...

My questions and ideas:

1) shall I create a canvas app for the it-guys so they ONLY see the fields we choose? (they can choose to use the app via mobile device, tablet or the web?)

2) For a few members that act as admins they should be able to change data for all offices and perhaps move inventory from one office to another and also see a bit more details; shall one focus on a model-driven-app for them in this case?

3) Is dataverse a good option for this kind of database?

4) If one choose dataverse shall once create a new solution, create a new table and then add new columns like:

- Office

- LocalIT (email address of our local it guys that can only change their own office inventory)

- GlobalIT (email address of our admins that can see and change everything)

- ComputerType (Desktop, Laptop)

- ComputerBrand (HP, Microsoft, Lenovo)

- ComputerOS (Windows 10, Windows 11)

- MonitorBrand (LG, Samsung)

Ofcourse you could/should have modelnr, serialnr, printers etc etc...

5) How can I choose the relation that particular email addresses (LocalIT) are able to add/remove/change objects that are linked to a certain office but not other objects linked to other offices?

6) Can canvas apps as well as model-driven-apps be published/accessible via Teams or is this a completely other process?

7) This dataverse data can later on be published via Power BI for management to consume?

I'm not asking for a complete solution. I just want to understand if this is a good approach or if I'm way off.

And perhaps give me a hint or two and suggest some good practices.

Thanks!
