HTML to Excel Table Troubles

Hi all,

Complete PowerAutomate novice here, but I'm really trying to learn! I've spent the best part of 2 days trying to get the correct text from an email into a Microsoft Excel table.

I think the problem is stemming because the email body contains a "security notice" before the relevant text, and I'm struggling to find an expression to just pick the relevant text.

Here's what I'm trying to do:

Email gets sent to set email address.

The format is:

CAUTION: — This email originated from outside of the organisation. Do not click
links or open attachments unless you are sure the content is safe even if you
know the sender.

Name: Test

Date of Birth: 20/10/1980

Location: United Kingdom

I've then created a spreadsheet with a table that has the relevant rows added.

I've tried expression:

trim(last(split(first(split(outputs('Html_to_text')?['Name'],'Date of Birth')),':')))
But this just results in an entry into the table which reads:
— This email originated from outside of the organisation. Do not click

I've tried to find other expressions, but I'm really struggling to find one that will just capture the string between "Name:" and "Date of Birth".

Any suggestions are hugely welcome, I feel like I'm going a little mad!

Thanks so much,

Owen

    Hi @OwenJP90

There are a couple ways but first I would

    split by ': '

    Thats colon space

with that you should get the name value Test in the [3] spot.

Try that. Either way, once you split by that, you can see the output of the Compose where you do the split and verify where Test is.

If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

    Cheers
