Hi team,

I have quite a simple flow to send an email to a candidate.  You can obviously send from a specified email address as part of this action.

My question is are you able to dynamically sent this From email address based on another fields value?

For the purpose of this question if the 'Department' field is HR then send from HR@organisation.com or else send from NOTHR@organisation.com

Thanks
Chris

    You can send from whatever email address you want if you have on behalf of privileges and the selection can be based on whatever condition you choose.
    You need to provide more details if you need a specific answer related to your use case.

    As I said it's a super simple flow:

    My question is can the send be set dynamically within the same Send an email action.  As the flow grows there will be 15 or so email templates for the user to choose from and I don't want to duplicate them all using conditions.  Is there an expression or similar you can use to set the sender value?

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hello @smodkins,

    you can build the logic using multiple if(...) expressions instead of conditions as explained in this article.

    Thank you @tom_riha,

    Every blog and youtube video I found on the subject said the 'From' field in the send an email action could not be set dynamically hence coming here but it works like a dream:

    if(equals(outputs('Get_item')?['body/Department/Value'], 'Human Resources'), 'HR@orgnisation.com', 'NOTHR@organisation.com')

    Thanks and have a great day!
