Good afternoon everyone, I'm new to the community and hoping that you are able give me advice on a project I am undertaking.
What I am attempting to do is use a QR code to track the use of individual vehicles in a small fleet. My idea is that a user could scan a QR code with a mobile device when getting into a vehicle, a data capture form would come up, specific details are entered utilising dropdown fields where possible and this data is then entered into either a database or spreadsheet. Currently, this material is captured using a paper form.
At this point, I am only looking to track the asset use but looking forward, we could look at adding a User database and Repairs and Maintenance information but one step at a time.
Before I run down a rabbit hole and start putting things together, I'm trying to understand the following:
- Is this possible using the Office 365 suite of tools
- If yes, it can be done, which tools should I start with, Forms or Access etc
- The QR code for me is the key to this process. Ideally, the QR code would enter the vehicle details into the form when it opened so that less information had to be entered by the user
