Can you copy a flow that triggers on SharePoint 'for selected item'?

I have a flow on a list in a SharePoint site, triggered on 'For a selected item'.

I created a new site with the same list,  created through a site design (there will be about 10 of these a year).

I did a 'save as' from  the original flow, and on the new flow changed the trigger to reference the new site and list.

It doesn't show up for the new list.

I tried to share the new flow with the new list, but it doesn't give me the option to share (or set owners) with a sharepoint list, only users. I don't see that extra tab.

I tried deleting the trigger and recreating, but it still doesn't show on the list menu nor allow me to share with the list.

I guess my question is - can I copy a 'for selected item' flow to a new list and expect it to work? Or do I always have to start from the SharePoint list and recreate it from scratch to make it attach properly?

Hi @Anonymous as far as I know you should just be able to change the configuration of the trigger and it will rewire itself. I'm just replying for now to put it on my radar to follow up. I'll do some testing and get back to you.

Thanks Matt, that's what I thought too. Appreciate any insights you've got. I'm going to need a feature like this when I use site designs to create new sites with the 'same' list in it. Changing the trigger I can handle, redoing the whole thing would be messy....

I actually accidentally fixed this error as I was working on another flow and setting up list ownership. What had happened was the trigger referenced the site, but the list reference was just the guid. I didn't like that so I changed it to the 'custom value' of the actual name of the list.

Changing the trigger back to the guid of the list fixed my ability to set the list as an owner. I have no idea why the list name doesn't show up in the drop down of the trigger. So not a solution per se, just closing this post.
