Power Apps Missing Power Automate Input Parameter

Hello. I've been having htis on and off issue syncing input parameters between Flow and Apps.

  • I clearly have 6 required input parameters defined in a flow.
  • The Power App is only accepting 5, adding a sixthe causes an error (????).
  • This has been going on for some time now. On and off functionality like this. One day vit accepts, the next it's an issue. I've tried:
    1. Recreating the app,
    2. Recreating the flow,
    3. removing the entire trigger and readding,
    4. removing the problem input and readding
    5. Removing the connected flow from Power Apps, and readding it,
    6. Cleared cache a dozen times,
    7. Refresh connewcted flow,
    8. Tried different browsers,
    9. Tried running it from the moon
  • NOTHING WORKS.
  • How can this platform be so buggy?????
  • I've added several images to provide expressions:
  • Is there any explanation for this unacceptable, buggy behavoir?

If you look at the intellisense when adding the sixth parameter it is prompting for a Record format.  You are supplying text.  That may be because you have flagged it in Power Apps as optional. Normally when I need to send more than 3 parameters to a flow I add them to a variable or collection and send them as one JSON parameter.  Then run parse JSON in Power Automate.  That way you don't have to worry about the order of the parameters, etc.

Hi Pstork1. Yes, the last parameter is simply an optional text box. I'll try making it mandatory but adding the parameter to the expression really should work. It should show up as the parameter name but whether optional or not, in my opinion anyways.

You're a genius as usual, now it accepts it. I get it now, DON'T think intuitively about this stuff, you have to learn these unintuitive techniques.

IMMHO, if you have 6 parameter in a flow trigger input, then PowerApps should allow all six regardless of it being required.

In this case, the Power Apps V2 shouldnt allow you to include any paramters that arent required. It only saves some us many hours of exasperation and increases in blood pressure.

Thanks again. I'll remember this little nugget of intel for sure!

    Cheers
