Launch new chrome with URL - attach to browser taking more time for lengthy url

Dear Team,

I am trying to attach the below eg: sample URL using Launch new chrome (Attach to chrome) action with URL option.

Since Title is same for all chrome popups.

It is taking more than a minute to attach to the chrome browser. Kindly help and advise to resolve this time consumption problem.

Sample url:

https://www.sample.in/Test11/Test/EditAll.aspx?Number=9Aa8Eo63==&Csdid=2Zds/XzOp+yum3IKVY&Flags=5vmQr=&Basic=JUGm1&Orp=5vmQr

When I tried to open the URL you have shared it shows as below and also redirects to a different URL so unable to test the time consumption.

And this could also be one of the reasons that the original URL is not already opened in Chrome (a different one) and therefore taking time to attach before it timesout.

Thank you for your reply. The url which is given a sample Url. The actual url is having many query strings similar to the sample one.
The issue is if the url is longer one , then launch chrome will take time to attach.Kindly help on this.

Hi @sureshvignesh

I tried with a 465 characters URL and a 2000 characters URL and they got attached without any issues with these many number of seconds.

Sample URLs taken from the web:

1. 465 chars in 0.943 secs

2. 2000 chars in 1.047 secs

- Is the same happening with other browsers?

- Are you able to share the URL?

Hi @VJR ,

My url length approximately 180 to 240 characters length. It is having encrypted query strings , after the page details which look likes the below sample url. could you share the Launch new chrome action details. what are the settings have been done in that. Really sorry , I am unable to share the exact url.

Hi @sureshvignesh

Truly speaking I have done nothing different.

Just added both the long URLs I have shared above into the Launch Chrome action with attach instance and those were the timings.

What is your observation on my other question? - Is the same happening with other browsers?

Just interjecting an option:

If the URL is in Excel or a text file:

Copy it from Excel (or text file)

Launch Chrome to anywhere or blank

Send Keys {Control}(l) 'that is a lowercase L - this takes you to the address bar in Chrome and selects all

Send Keys {Control}(v)

Hi Team,

Found the reason of taking time , since i am creating the navigation url based on previous window url , i could not make it to the exact navigate url. for eg :
previous window url:
https://www.fi.in/fss/Employee/EditEmployeeDetails.php?Number=xyz&Code=xyz&Flag=xyz&Base=xyz&Org=xyz
new Navigate url : (only changed the name)
https://www.fi.in/fss/Employee/RegistrationDetails.php?Number=xyz&Code=xyz&Flag=xyz&Base=xyz&Org=xyz
But the actual navigate url having few more query strings. Looks like due to the part of url provided , the launch url is taking time.Requesting your advice on the part of url scenario.

This is happening in chrome/firefox browsers.
