When trying to use the studio URL today, I am being redirected to make.powerapps.com (the Power Apps Portal). I just prefer Studio because it lacks the O365 NavBar (providing more area for the app development) and it only displays my apps.

Following an update, that link now unfortunately redirects to the maker portal, as you've discovered. There's another post about this here.
