Installing Power Automate Agent so that it'll work on Citrix Virtual Apps launched through Citrix Workspace/StoreFront

Hi,

We are using Citrix Workspace for management of different legacy applications. How do you install the Power Automate agent for virtual desktops so that it'll will sideload together with the main application launched through the StoreFront?

We have only managed getting synched logging on via a full RDP connection, but we would like to UI-interact with Apps run from the Citrix Workspace StoreFront. Is there a setup guide for this?

Many thanks for any advice,

Lars

Thanks @Nived_Nambiar, we've used that as guidance. Maybe I will also reach out to a Citrix community because it may be more of a Citrix configuration issue.

I guess we haven't been able to run the Power Automate agent along side with launching the Citrix Virtual App, as it doesnt detect and sync between citrix and PA desktop. Do you know specifics around this kind of citrix setup?

    Thanks,

    Lars

I know this is almost a year later, but I am curious if you ever came across a solution for what you were trying to achieve. I have a similar requirement where I need the Power Automate agent running across 25+ host machines in Citrix running various apps and I am wondering if it is doable. In the previously linked docs, there is a line that states:
When you capture a UI element in a virtual desktop, virtual app or RemoteApp, it is linked to the details (IP, Name, etc.) of the machine at the time of capture. If you want to interact with the same UI element on a different machine, you will need to capture it again on that machine.
So would this mean that even if I do have proper communication to an instance of the Power Automate agent in a Citrix session, UI automation would fail if it was not the same machine in which UI interaction was configured?

@jleisey; As Ive not been able to solved the Automate agent on Citrix setup I do not have insight in this UI element question. I would guess is the agent is properly set up on Citrix, I would assume the recorder will understand and link UI element from the virtual desktop. Atleast the recorder knows that you are trying to interact with a Citrix/virtual desktop window the last time I tried.

I think it would fail since I think the UI element and its window is under RPD desktop agent element which will have the specified Citrix connection.

If you have only one Citrix open at a time then maybe you could try removing the IP address and make the Name Ends with - Remote Desktop Connection (or in your case propably Citrix Connection)

    change to

Or if you start the 25 citrix session by PAD then you should know the IP and you can have it be in some variable and there for be dynamic:

@LarryDDV have you found any solution for this? If I understood correctly, you have a legacy desktop app offered via Citrix Workspace to your users and you want them to be able to automate certain actions using PAD (UI interaction with selectors).
