ITEM vs FILE FLOW

I want to create a flow to alert a certain person to approve a file or a sing-off.

This is possible in a list with items but if I try to do it in a Folder with Files it only allows for the option "everyone approve" or "anyone approve" etc...

How can I set it up to be approved by only one person?

See the Create and test an approval workflow with Microsoft Flow for a tutorial on how to create a single approver workflow. When a file is created or modified (properties only) could be the trigger used. The Send approval email when a new item is added template does this as well.

I also found this templet but its a very complicated flow and I don't know what to plug in, in most fields...

Just put the single person in the Assigned To field. It has support for multiple assignees, but it doesn't require multiple:

The problem I am running into is that when I want to choose an approval for a FILE the only options I get in the approval selection are create approval or start and wait for an approval
vs
if I create an ITEM I can select start and approval
the difference in the 2 is that the ones for the FILE do not let me put in an individual person

Hi @Nebulosa ,

Connector Approvals has four actions:

Create an approval (V2)

Start and wait for an approval

Start and wait for an approval (V2)

Wait for an approval (V2)

No matter which trigger you are using, you are able to use whichever approval action.

About “the difference in the 2 is that the ones for the File do not let me put in an individual person”. You could just manually input the email address in the Assigned to field.
