Moving a task into a new bucket based off week day.

Hi everyone,

I am new to Microsoft Projects (now Planner Premium) and Power Automate, and I am looking for help to create a flow.

I want to automatically move tasks between buckets based off of their weekday. This is because I work with operators who want to use the Bucket function to organise tasks based off their weekday. The current issue is that it requires two steps every time to organise a task (Move to correct bucket + assign correct date). Therefore, a logical solution could be to instead apply the correct bucket based off of the date and its weekday. Let me explain:

Example 1:
A task is created that needs to be done on Monday 12th of August. As the task is assigned the due date, it should automatically move into a bucket named "MONDAY".

Example 2:
A task is already placed in a bucket named "TUESDAY", but has no date assigned. The task has to be completed on Wednesday 14th of August. As the date is updated to the 14th, the task moves automatically from bucket "TUESDAY" to bucket "WEDNESDAY".

I have no idea if this is possible, but it would be a super great solution for us.

Hope anyone can help!

    You can use a formatdatetime function and use the full name of the day of the week (dddd) format to retrieve that from the due date. You can compare that your list of buckets of the plan via a Filter Array action.

    Below is an example

    The where in the Filter Array
    @equals(item()?['name'], formatdatetime(triggerOutputs()?['body/dueDateTime'], 'dddd'))

    The expression for the matching bucket id
    first(body('Filter_array'))['Id']

    Below is the test result
