Get @mention token for use in Teams post from sharepoint list

I have a Sharepoint list with a column titled 'Next Assignee'.  The value in this column is 'type' people or Group.  It will always be a people and NOT a group.

My flow errors out at the step 'Get @mention token for a user' and I'm not quite understanding why.

Below is a screenshot of the flow.

    Hi @PeggyLang ,

You will need to pass the email attribute of your people picker.

I figured that was it, but I'm not familiar with the syntax/steps in order to accomplish.

    Hi @PeggyLang ,

Is your people picker a single or multi person picker?

If single, there isnt any formatting required.  When you click on dynamic content like you already have done, there should be the option to select Next Assignee, Next Assignee Claims, Next Assignee Display Name, Next Assignee Email etc.  Simply just select Next Asignee Email.  I am on my mobile right now so the screenshot below is compressed but it should illustrate my point.

    Good morning,

Owner of the list wished to make a few changes.
I created a new column labelled 'Owner'.  It is a people picker.
I deleted the 'Next Assignee' column.
When I went to the flow to update the specifics the action 'Get @mention token for a user' turns into an 'Apply to each'.
I input/structured what I thought would work, however, the flow fails.
Below is a screenshot of the flow up to the 'Get @mention token . . . ' step.

And below is a screenshot of the error message.

I don't understand why the action turned into an 'apply to each'.
I also don't understand why the flow is failing.

    Thanks for help.

    Hi @PeggyLang ,

Did you make your owner field a multi peiple picker?  This would mean you can select multiple people in the same field hence the loop.

Can you add a Compose action prior to the Get Mention Token action and confirm the Owner Email is valid and an actual email address?

Oh shoot!  Yes my people picker is multiple selections.  None of the items in the list currently have more than 1 selection though.  and they are definitely valid email addresses.

Can we get @mentions from a field with multiple people?  If so, can you guide me?  I'm guessing I need a condition, i.e., if more than one entry then . . . and then probably a compose?

@eric-cheng I just thought of something.  I only want this flow to run when the field 'Owner' has been modified.  It will be common that the list is a 'working list' and there will be modifications to fields other than 'Owner', but I only want to send a Teams post @mention when the 'Owner' field has been updated.
This just keeps getting more complicated.

    @eric-cheng
I changed the People picker to only one entry and then added a 'Condition' which states
if 'owner email' is equal to  'Modified' then get @mention and post in Teams site.
However . . . 'Condition' is returning 'false' even when I have modified the column in the Sharepoint list.PeggyLang_0-1628017210602.png

    Hi @PeggyLang ,

Can you please change the field from modified to Modified By Email as Modified is the modified date
