Popup message when an item is chosen from a dropdown list

I have a datacard that displays a list of Incident Categories (there are 19 items in the list). I want a particular message popup to occur when a user selects a certain item (e.g., if item A is chosen, then message A should popup).

    Hi @mikesmeltz ,

    I assume you have a DropDown/ComboBox. You have not said where your messages are stored (or do you hard-code them) and also whether you want a Notify message or you have a pop-up configured already.

    In any case, on the OnChange of the control is where the trigger needs to be.

    If(Self.Selected.xxxx="yyyy",Do the popup)

    xxxx depends on the Items of your control.

    Happy to elaborate further.

    Hi Warren,

    I have the popup message on another screen in the app. Here is the formula i have for the field:

    If(Self.Selected.Category="Law Enforcement", Screen3). "Law Enforcement" is one of the selections from the dropdown menu.

    There are about 19 items in the dropdown, and there will eventually be two difference popup messages assigned to this control, each depends on what selection the user picks.

    I have attached a screenshot of the control.

    Thank you for your help

    It sounds like you want to navigate to another screen to show the popup. If navigating is not a necessity, I would suggest you add the popup, which I assume is a text box or label that becomes visible when xxxx is in the control, to the same screen as the drop down.

    To set the pop-up on the same screen, I would set the visible for the pop-up to If(Self.Selected.Value = "Law Enforcement" , true, false)

    For it to navigate to another screen, like @WarrenBelz mentioned, on the data card On Change property to:

    If(Self.Selected.Category = "Law Enforcement",

    Hi Warren,

    I created a label (Label4) on the screen that has the control on it, and set the formula to this: If(Self.Selected.Category="Law Enforcement", Label4)

    I also set the formula for Label4 to this:  If(DataCardValue20= ("Law Enforcement"), Label4.DisplayMode=true)

    Still nothing appears when I choose "Law Enforcement" from the dropdown list.

    I was able to get it to popup a label when selecting the "Law Enforcement" item from the dropdown. I cannot get it to either keep that label when another item is selected that warrants that label being displayed, or displaying another label when an item is selected that warrants the other label.

    I have tried conditional logic (or, if) but i am very, very new to this formula language so am having difficulty figuring how to choose the syntax to get the action i need.

    Thank you for any help and for the help thus far. 🙂

    HI @mikesmeltz ,

    Firstly, the Visible of the label (I assume this is the pop-up) simply needs to be

    DataCardValue20.Selected.Category="Law Enforcement"

    This will produce either a true or false result and reflect in the Visible of the label. Does this assist with your second question?

    Hi Warren,

    That formula worked. Now what i need to do is get the msg to remain if another value from the dropdown menu is chosen that requires the same msg to display. For example, "Medical Emergency" is the next item after "Law Enforcement" in the list. If the user picks "Medical Emergency," i need the same msg to display. How to i put more than one value criteria on the label?

     Thanks again.

    Hi @mikesmeltz ,

    Try this

    DataCardValue20.Selected.Category="Law Enforcement" || DataCardValue20.Selected.Category="Medical Emergency"
