Add attachment in flow: Form submission --> Create Excel row --> send Email --> create Planner Task with file uploaded in Forms

Hi guys,

I have this really nice flow working (see photo), where my colleagues fill out a Form to submit a task (WRQ) for my team.

The flow creates a task in Planner, but I cannot get uploaded files automatically attached to the task.

I found this older description Add attachments from a Form submission to a Planner Task with an incremental ID but is it really not possible to do smarter? Help is much appreciated.

Best regards,

The flow goes like:

- Form submitted

- Create Task ID in Excel row,

- Send notification to me as task owner + send email with details to task creator,

- Create Task,

- Update Task with details (except attachments)

    Hi @DLyd ,

It's not possible to attach files to planner tasks directly. But as the alternative, you can create a file in SharePoint or OneDrive then add the file link to a task. Please refer to below blog where describes the whole process:

Power Automate: Add an Attachment to a task in Planner - Mashyaka Online

    1. Parse JSON for the response
    2. Get file content using path
    3. Create item in SharePoint
    4. Add attachment to SharePoint
    5. Get attachment from SharePoint
    6. Create a task in Planner
    7. Update task details
    8. Delete file from OneDrive

    Best regards,

Oh, now I finally get why so many steps are needed!

Did I get it right: When my colleague fills out the form and add an attachment, then I 'kinda grab' the attachment, save it to Sharepoint, link it to my created task in Planner, AND delete from my own OneDrive.

Nice, then this way I get around sharing the file without using OneDrive (which was another issue I couldn't solve).

Thanks for clarifying, will give it a try later. BR
