Replace Power Bi using Power Automate and Sharepoint

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi!

I need to query SAP HANA and show the results of the reports to the organization. My first thought was using Power BI, but there are no licenses available. So, I think my option will be using Power Query to Excel, publishing it in SharePoint, and using Power Automate to keep the information updated.

The problem is that I have never used Power Automate before, so my questions are:

  1. Can I automate a query in Power Automate, or do I need to create the query in Power Automate?
  2. Is it possible to create the entire report in Power Automate without Power Query or Excel?
  3. Do you have a recommended course for reporting using Power Automate?

Any tips and recommendations will be appreciated."

    @Anonymous ,

    1. Can I automate a query in Power Automate, or do I need to create the query in Power Automate?

    Power Automate allows you Query APIs using available actions and connectors. You can create a custom connector is it is not available.

    1. Is it possible to create the entire report in Power Automate without Power Query or Excel?

    You can create basic HTML table based on the data returned. You will not have the tools to build complex reports like Power BI provides.

    1. Do you have a recommended course for reporting using Power Automate?

    For reporting, it would be cheaper to procure a Power BI license than to try to build a "basic report" in Power Automate.
