Send an email when a to-do task is assigned.

We are trying to create a flow that when a task in Microsoft To-Do is assigned to someone, an email be sent to that person telling them the task is assigned. My power automtate is in spanish so probably the translation of the actions will not be exact.

So far my trigger is "When a pending task is updated in a specific folder (V2)" then I used a compose to get the task id which I already tested and works. Then I used "Get a pending task (V3)" to finally have the send email action. But I can't find at all to whom the task is assigned.

    Hi @Sroldan ,

Could please you provide more information?

Can you post a screenshot of the flow you are building now?

    Best Regards,

Not sure if it will be of a lot of help but in other words, what I need is to the send an email when I assign a task to someone.

    Hi @Sroldan ,

I didn't find the option of who the task is assigned to on Microsoft To-Do, but if you create a task in Planner and assign it to yourself, Microsoft To-Do's assigned to me will show up the task.

You can try using the Planner connector to implement your needs instead of the Microsoft To-Do connector.

Here is a link that will give you some inspiration:

In addition to that, I have done a test that I hope can help you:

Since there are these three types of triggers in the Planner connector, the flow cannot be triggered when a task is updated, so I chose to trigger the flow when a new task is created.

Hey @v-yetonggu-msft thanks for your help

In the end, since we needed it to be triggered from Microsoft To-Do, we ended up having 2 flows. The first one ended up creating the task in planner, so when a new task is created, compose the name of the task, create a task in planner and send an email to the creator.

Then we just make the adjustments of the task in planner and the second flow uses your solution.
