2 Environments 1 Flow

Hi all,

I have a Dataverse table which collects information. I need to build a flow so that when a row is updated it copies a particular word document and auto populates that document based on fields etc. That bit I have done before, however, the company I work for has used 2 environments. The SharePoint site that holds the documents is in 1 environment whilst my Dataverse & app is in another. How do I get this to work? I don't normally use environments

A SharePoint site can't be part of a Power Platform Environment. You can use the SharePoint connector in Power Automate to connect to a library or list in any SharePoint site regardless of the environment, provided that the SharePoint connector is not disabled by a DLP policy by the environment admin.

I don't really understand the way the company have done it but this is what I have been told:

The power automate is part of our Microsoft365 license and the site is a difference instance of SharePoint.

We have 2 different environments running SharePoint. One is part of the company Microsoft365 suite and then the other is installed in a different environment and used for SharePoint

Does this make sense to you?

Are we even talking about SharePoint Online for the second instance or is it SharePoint on-prem?

If it is on-prem you will have to configure an on-prem data gateway.

If we talk about two different Microsoft tenants then you need to make sure that tenant isolation is either not used or properly set up on both Azure and Power Platform side.

It would help if you tell us which kind of environment you are talking about.
