Need help with identifying if sharepoint list item attachment has been modified and creating a flow

Hello Awesome Power Automate Community

I currently have a SharePoint list whereby users can pick a pre-created meeting timing/slot to present their paper to the Management team in the monthly management meeting.

My flow is running successfully but with one potential issue - Once their request is approved, how can the meeting organiser be informed should there be any new attachments being added to replace the older ones which requestors had attached when they submit their request in.

Is there any way for me to include or create a separate flow whereby when a changes happen in the Attachment column, it will notify the meeting organiser to ensure that organiser will be using to the latest file during the presentation in the meeting.

Thanks in advance!

If it's in a list, I think they can only delete and re-add, not overwrite, an attachment. I just tried multiple ways in the modern list and I .. can't. However, the good news is that adding an attachment triggers the "modified" trigger.

Unless you want to hold a list of your attachments and file sizes in another list to compare, I think this might be the easiest way:

So when there's a modification, "Get Attachments", then for each of those attachments, "Get File Metadata", then compare whether or not it was within the last hour, basically. (Attachment times don't always line up exactly with the modified time.) If it was, then it's an updated attachment. If not, no updated / new attachments.

    Hi @Rhiassuring

Thanks for your response. I shall give it a try.

For my trigger, I have set some conditions as per below.

I'm just worried that it won't trigger the flow when a modification was made to the attachment column. can you perhaps suggest a trigger condition for the attachment column?

Or should I just create a separate flow specifically to monitor any changes that might happen with the attachment column as per your suggestion above?

Thanks again & wishing you a Happy New Year🎉

Well, it depends. Right now, it's only going to trigger on attachment add / change if your other conditions are true. So .. it has to have a populated title, a populated Presenter, and has to equal "New".

Will that all be true for when you will need to update someone about the attachment change?
