Connecting Sharepoint folder to SQL database using flow

Hey there,

I'm currently attempting to automate the movement of new files that'll be continuously added to a Sharepoint folder into SQL database using flow.

It seems you need the specific file name to use the "Get Rows" and "Get Worksheets" Excel steps in order to then get dynamic options for the "Insert Row" SQL step.  This is a problem for me since I need to automate the movement of new files which have yet to be added to the folder and thus haven't been named or had their format established yet.  If I try to extract the contents of the folder, all I get is a list of file names as a dynamic option rather than the contents of the files themselves.

Converting to a CSV file poses similar problems and the SQL step won't recognize the rows.

I'd prefer to use flow as the automation tool since I'm interested in exploring it, but if you guys have simpler suggestions to automate the interaction between Sharepoint folders and SQL I'd appreciate those as well.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Do you mean that you have obtained the properties of the file in the specified folder, but can't get the file content?

Could you share the current configuration of Flow?

If you use When a file is created as a trigger and you can get the file name, you could then use Get file content action to get the file content, Like:

If you use List folder to get the files in specified folder, you could still use Get file content action to get the file contents, as below:

    Please take a try.

    Best Regards,
