Hi all,
I have a Sharepoint document library with "Require content approval" enabled.
I want changes to the document to go through the approval process. I also want changes to metadata in "Column A" to go through the approval process, but I want changes to "Column B" to not go through the approval process (essentially I want those changes to auto-approve, because they aren't sigificant enough to require another approval.)
I'm struggling with this because any change will put the document in Draft status, and will require the user to submit the document for approval again. Is there a way to make Column B changes automatically re-approve the document?
Thanks
Hi,
From your post description, I can see that you are looking for a way to catch the changes in a file while submitting those to an Approval Process in Power Automate. Currently, you can add an action into your flow to get the file metadata and, depending on the file version, you can submit it to an approval process. You can take a look at that in the following link for further information about it;
However, while you can make it so that the Flow will only do an approval if certain columns are modified using conditions to check what has been changed, the document will still always go into a draft state. Its not possible to avoid this on the Power Automate side of things.
Regards,
Alex
