I am trying the modern controls for a number of reasons, but in my use case, I need to embed the "new" form on a Sharepoint page within the same site as the list.

I have data cards that should not display on New and I have the following code input in the visible entry: varFormType <> "New"

The code is respected IF I am on the list and hit New. However, if I try to embed the form on a Sharepoint page or even if I use the Webapp link that is provided, that code is not respected.

Any workarounds for this?
