Power App Gallery: Not returning data in Published mode.

I have a Power App that has been working fine. Around 6/17 the users reported that the project screen showing data was not returning anything. I have a project list in SharePoint, using clear collect on visible of screen. When I open the app in studio edit mode and play, the screen data is populating, but the published version is not displaying data. I do not have the New Analysis Engine feature turned on as was noted in another forum. I know caching has been mentioned and I have cleared my cache on my machine, but is there a higher-level cache that might impact this?

    Hi @JRO

Firstly let's verify that its even trying to load data.

Step 1. Close your App (stop it running)

Step 1A. Go to Apps Tab

Step 1B. On your App, click the ...

Step 2. Click Run Monitor in the list

Then when Monitor Opens, you will see an option on the menu that says Play Published Version/App do that Step 3. On the bottom click Open Monitor
Step 4. Once Monitor is running go back and run your app
Step 5. Cause your issue to happen
    Step 6. Close the app
Step 7. Go to the Monitor and Filter (top right) based on Error, or key word. Go to the line or lines that match this
Step 8. Look at the Response Tab and you will have to expand the Body > and the Header >. Then look at the body to see more details on the error
Do this for each line you find
Step 9. On each line, also check the Code being executed on Tab 2

Now I am going to modify my script up there. You can look for Error first. Then filter for your data loading in the OnVisible property

So after searching for Error, look for ClearCollect and OnVisible

See if it even triggers. If not then we can go from there.

If so, then my next question is, I know they dont SEE the data, but (assuming its a gallery), do the gallery "think" its showing data?

What does that mean? It means if you click in the Gallery its like you can select invisible rows.

    Let me know

If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

    Cheers

Thank you for your help! I went through the monitor and am not getting any errors. I am including the snips from that session. Also on the published app, I clicked in the gallery area but nothing. I duplicated my screen, deleted the gallery and readded a sample gallery on the new test screen using the same collection, then published it. That gallery is working.

This may be related to the latest version update. A new version is set to release on July 15. Since this app is still in test rather than revert to a previous version, I am going to hold until the new version is released and see if the issue resolves.

If you're using a text input as a search box to filter your gallery items, you will have to change the formula to only filter on the text value if the text box is not Blank(). Prior to sometime in June, you could just use StartsWith(Textbox.Value) in the filter. That will no longer work, at least not for me. If you click into your text box and then back out, or put a space in the text box, it will return results. If that is the case, what I mentioned above should work.
