The Service Reader, Writer and Deleter roles can only be assigned to an app user

Hi, I'm kind of going crazy here, don't know what else to try, I have an app I made, I was able to propagate it through the organization and apply the Basic User rol to people and give them the Service, reader, writer and delete roles, so they can make changes to the tables through the app, but there are 2 users, that for what ever reason the system will not allow me to give them permissions for service write, read or delete. I keep getting the error "The Service Reader, Writer and Deleter roles can only be assigned to an app user" with their user ID, what can I do to resolve this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello @FGRODRIGUEZ

Can you send us a screenshot of the error? It's weird, it should be possible to assign. Is it a custom role? does it let you assign any other rol to those users?

    Hi  @FGRODRIGUEZ ,

    Hi @FGRODRIGUEZ,

The Service Reader and Service Write roles are not meant to be assigned to regular users. These out-of-the-box roles that are meant more for system admins and cannot modified. By default, they automatically have access to all tables and the writer has that + create/write privileges. More info: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform-release-plan/2020wave2/data-platform/new-service-reader-service-writer-security-roles

The recommendation is to create new role(s) form the "Basic User" roles so that the role have all the basic privileges to run the app, and provide privileges to only the tables that they need. More info on how to create roles: https://learn.microsoft.com/power-platform/admin/create-edit-security-role#create-a-security-role-by-copy-role
    Hope this helps!

The solution was to create a new role and give them access to the corresponding tables.
