Modern and Classic Textbox Control behaviours when used in Components

Hi All,

I am experiencing some strange behaviours with the On Change event when using Modern and Classic Textbox Controls in a Component.

I am trying to write the values of a text box to a collection using the on change event once I finish typing in the textbox.

What I have found:
The Classic control needs to be clicked out of and the component background or a button to be clicked for the value to be recognised in the collection.  Note:A click out is not required when using the modern control on a normal screen but it is required on a component.

The Modern control does not require a click out to recognise the change but triggers the on change event  as we type so it makes the whole interface stagger.      The modern control does not have a delay output property.

Has anyone else experienced similar behaviours and can anyone suggest a solution or a work around.

Many Thanks
Jamie

    hey

i and many other great users here and even microsoft wont suggest using modern controls ins productive apps as of now. they are still in preview and can cause issues in many places. do yourself a treat and work with classic ones until the modern ones are released.

I agree! The classic and modern controls work very differently.

About the Modern Control, if you are using a Modern Text Input to write to your collection, there is a "Trigger Output" property which can be set to "Delayed" which might help you get the effect you require.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Nandit
