Read from one source and write to another

Hi Guys,

I am completely new to PowerApps and I'm attempting to build a form that will write to a Sharepoint List, most of the fields will be free text or static list, however, a couple of the fields will be coming from a completely different source. Is it possible to read data from one place and write it to another place?

The source data exists in Azure datalake but if it makes it easier I could move it into its own Sharepoint List and read it from there.

What are my options?

As long as you have a reliable way to connect records from both data sources you should be good. You could, for example, use a LookUp based on a shared unique ID.

Both data sets aren't connected. The main data the user will be inputting (the free text data) is financial numbers, the data that I need to lookup (the data that exists in a completely different source) is product hierarchy data, the user will need to select product family > product model > product number etc.

I don't really have any experience with datalake, but if it works like any other datasource, you could just use multiple gallery or dropdown to filter the data, I believe they call it cascading dropdowns, where the items displayed by one dropdown are filtered by the selected of another dropdown

Connecting to datalake would mean I need to use a premium connector and as there are a lot of users, I was considering moving the data to a sharepoint list or an excel source anyway.
The point I was trying to establish was if it was possible and how do I do it?
You mentioned above that the data sources would need to be connected, but mine aren't
