Can you combine two "get items" results list into a single one?

Hi all,

I have 2 share point lists which have equal structure. I need to perform some statistics on data in both lists. So I start with 2x "Get items" action in my flow. In order to have all data in single list I now write everything to a single list with "create item" and then do a single "Get items" to now be able to analyze all data (using Apply to each).... I was wondering, is there a command to combine the result into a single virtual list which I can then use to analyze (using Apply to each)... now I first have to delete my target list, then write all files from both "Get items" into the list and then do "get items" again.. makes the flow very very slow

Regards

Charles

    Hi @Charles-v-D

You should be able to use the Flow Expression union() for your requirement.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/logic-apps/workflow-definition-language-functions-reference#union

This expression accepts multiple collections (essentially the outputs from your Get Items requests) and returns a single collection of items which you can then make use of in your Apply to Each loop.

    Hope that helps.

    @LeeHarris

I cried victory to soon! I have been able to create an Array "COMBINED" that contains all the item from my two "get items" actions.

Now I want to loop through them to do various things. So I took an "Apply to each" and put the COMBINED in the "output from previous steps"... but now I need to "read" the first element of my COMBINED array to do actions... what action to use?

    regards

    Charles

    HI @Charles-v-D

Do you only need to read the first item in your combined array? Or do you need to perform the same action on each item within the array?

Please post a screenshot/further details of your current Flow process.

I create a temporary list with status and ID's only . I reset the list and do "Gets" and then "For each create" in my temporary list.

Then I loop through my temporary list and "switches" me through the actions needed.

Simple , but it works, and temporary list is nice as documentation  as well.
