Hello all,
I've attempted to create a flow "When a new email arrives Office 365 Outlook. It appears to be working and grabs my email with the text "OSS ET DSR" in the subject, however, it is not placing the email in the specific folder I selected in my Teams sharepoint site.
Been working on this for days now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
AF
Hello AlanPs1 🙂
I really appreciate your time. I will check it out. This is like programming and I am defintely not a programmer. Lol.
Thanks again
Anita (canitaatl)
Great stuff @canitaatl, yeah, I don't want to ruin the fun for you here as I can tell you're just getting started but also seem very keen on using Flow for your tasks.
So, like I say, give it a shot, use the forum and if and when you get stuck we're here to help you out.
Tip: Look at using a condition, without customisation it either returns true or false. You could test and have a play by using a simple button trigger (you will find that in the Flow app on your mobile) and simply saying:
If yes - send email 1
If No - send email 2
This can keep going from there and you can nest these yes/no branches. Or you look at the parallel branch which has it's own strengths.
Thanks, Alan
Thanks Alan. I will give this some thought. I am really new at this. By the way, I did give a thumbs up for Rebetcha.
Hi @canitaatl
Thank you for feeding back and also thank you for aknowledging @Rebetcha's input after they reached out to help. Maybe a Thumbs up for Rebetcha is in order? 😉
So, regards your reply "How do I then create a flow with multiple project names . Is that possible".
This is not a detailed answer but may provide some food for thought so have a look at Message 9 from me here regards parallel branches. There are other ways to do this but you are referring to the classic if, else style approach to logic. It is totally possible and more.
Maybe you could try creating a parallel branch and seeing if that meets your needs?
Or, I'd say start a new thread, post the existing Flow you have and ask a question something like, "How do I then create a flow that filters on email subject line to do diferent tasks?" and I'm sure one of the community (or mybe I) will pop in.
Here's some other info with links to email subject triggers to get you started.
If you find my posts helpful, please mark thumbs up.
Thanks, Alan
Hello,
Thank you for replying to my post. Greatly appreciated. My issue was resolved by AlanPs1.
Hi again: AlanPs1
Now that I have created this flow with your help (smile) I do have another question. I will be receiving many emails the subject line will contain A Project Name along with OSS ET DSR . Being that I will have multiple Projects do I have to create the same flow for each of the project names.
From the workflow edit When a new email arrives...in the Subject Filter field i have: [Status] DNS Cloud FW - OSS ET DSR. This is one of the projects that an email will arrive in my inbox. This one works.
How do I then create a flow with multipl project names . Is that possible? Or do I have to create a flow for each.
Thanks again for all your help.
AF
