When a column is modified in SharePoint, remove item level security from user and replace with the another

Hi all,

I wonder if you could assist me please 🙂

I've built a flow that successfully runs into a condition when there is a change made to a person picker field column called 'Responsible Person'. <image attached>. If the 'Responsible Person' field is modified then we go down the Yes, 'true' route, and then I wish to change the rows item permissions to the newly assigned person (Responsible Person).

Where I am struggling is with Item level security. I want to replace the original Responsible Person (people picker) with the new one when the list column (Responsible Person) is set to them. However, it doesn't seem to do this. I've tried clearing all item-level security for the row and then granting access back to the newly assigned person, but it doesn't work, in fact, it leaves the access to the row blank so there is no-one that has access to the row!

The other thing that happens is that even when I manage to change the 'Responsible Person' field to a new person, it still allows the previous person access and just appends the new one. It doesn't remove the previous Responsible Persons access, so they can still view the row, which I do not want for security reasons.

Any tips/assistance and help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
