PowerApps trial has expired.. Remove Premium features?

I had started a trial of a Power Apps Premium plan to experiment with some premium features and inputs, like the address input for instance. I ended up removing the address input and all other premium connectors from my app, but now that my trial has expired, I cannot run the app. I get a dialog box that says "Your Power Apps trial has expired. You'll need a Power Apps premium plan to use the features in this app. To keep working, extend your trial."

I had already removed the premium features from the app prior to the expiration, but I am still locked out. Can anyone assist with this?

In addition to deleting the connection from the app have you also tried deleting the premium connections from Power Apps Studio itself?  Go to https://make.powerapps.com/ and check Connections under Data.  Try deleting them from there.  If you look at the Details for a specific connection it should tell you which apps are using it.  But in your case you can just delete all the premium connections.

Hi @Pstork1, thank you for the reply.
I have checked the list of connections in the location provided, and I do not have any premium connections there either. Here is the list of the connections in the app:

As I mentioned before, I believe the only Premium content I had in the app at any point was the 'Address Input' input. But I had removed that prior to the trial expiring.

I also tried to save the app as a new app by saving as with a new name, no luck.

I also confirmed the License designation of the app is shown as "Premium" despite there being no premium connectors in the app.

If you can still make a new app and save it without the prompt then your only real choice is to open a support ticket.  Connector references can get copied pretty deep in the schema of an app and deleting them doesn't always work.  At that point its either have MS do it, unzip and edit the source code yourself (not supported or recommended), or recreate the app.

Agree, removing all premium connections should fix the issue. If not, go ahead submit a support ticket.

Ok, thank you. I will submit a ticket. Hopefully I do not have to rebuild the app 😐

Following up.. I am stuck in a loop with support. From my make.powerapps.com, I go to support, select create a support ticket, and then go to sign in and it sends me back to make.powerapps.com. Do I have to have a per app or per user plan to utilize support?

No, you don't need to have a premium license to access support.  But you may need to be an admin in your tenant to do it.

    @EricaBao & @Pstork1
I am the admin on this tenant, and I am still stuck in a login loop. I cannot log in to submit a ticket.

    From make.powerapps.com I:

    • Select 'Support' under the '?' menu
    • Click 'Create Support Ticket' at the bottom of the page
    • Takes me to a page that reads:
"Looks like you haven't subscribed to PowerApps"
    • I click 'Sign In' at the top
    • I get redirected back to make.powerapps.com again and loop starts over.

I have tried clearing my browser cache, and tried in other browsers as well as using incognito mode, with no luck.

    Please advise! Thank you

I think I have found the root cause of this issue, and it seems to be a rather serious bug.

During my trial subscription, I added the new 'Map' input and 'Address Search' to my app to play around with them. There was still some functionality issues, so I removed them from my app. Well, when you add these inputs to an app, PowerApps automatically creates and add a connection for "Spatial Services". In the list of connection, it is not shown as a Premium connector. However, in an attempt to troubleshoot this, I "Saved As" the problem app, and when starting the new copy the first time, I had to sign in to the existing connections.

Aha! In the list of existing connections, was "Spatial Services", designated as a Premium connection. Now I am trying to disconnect the Spatial Services connection from the app to see if this downgrades the app license designation.

Nevertheless, this is certainly a bug that needs to be ironed out with these new inputs.
