Approvals app won't send push notifications to a Teams Channel mailbox

Hi,

I am using the Approvals app for a process and assigning it to a group mailbox, created by a Teams Channel. If I use individual email addresses the Teams and email push notifications work perfectly, however, they don't when I use the group mailbox. I would rather keep the notifications to the group inbox and Teams rather than each individual if I can.

Has anyone come up against this before and have a solution?

Many thanks in advance!

Steve

    Hi @SteveTaylor ,

Unfortuneately, like you say, the notifications dosen't work when being send to a team or group.

But, this should be a good work around. Use Office 365 groups to find the group members for your group/team and use the same input as have in your message that you post in the team, in a post a feed notification.

When you add the post a feed notification and add the 'UserID' in userId the flow will automatically make an apply to each, which will then send out the notification to everyone in the team.

Right now, as far as I know, this is the easiest/best workaround to do this.

Let me know how it goes 😄

Does this work if the user raising the approval is not in the group? I was trying to use the post adaptive card and wait for response in a group chat but was soon caught out when a user who was not in the group chat submitted and obviously the flow failed because they were no in the approvers chat

    Hi @JamesOwen

One user who's not in the group can indeed raise an approval for a specific group. I guess you just have to find a good way for that person to trigger the workflow. Thereafter you can have the posting of the adaptive card tied to an admin account which has access to all group for example.
