I have a couple of Power Automate flows that send email notifications to employees and I was wondering how do you handle email notifications when a person is on leave or no longer with the organization? The flow won't fail since the notification is sent.

Like I said, the notification is going out but it's just sitting in an InBox that won't be looked at. I don't have a crystal ball to know when a person has left the organization or is on leave so I can modify the notification to send it to someone else so I'm wondering if I am missing something basic here when creating a flow?

What is your best practice to deal with a situation like this?

Thank you

@Ann_DAS You can do this by checking the user mailbox mailtip as explained in the following article:

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers!

Hello @Ann_DAS You can check whether a user is in the organization by following these steps:

    1. Use the Get user profile (V2) action to retrieve the user's details.

    2. Use a Condition and apply the accountEnabled function to check whether the account is active.

    3.

This will give true or false then you can use it for further steps.

To check whether an employee is on leave:

    1. Determine if there is a SharePoint list or another system that tracks employee leave.
    2. Access the leave data from the system.
    3. Use a Condition to check the leave status and proceed accordingly.
