Attaching PDF from Library to List based on Filename Match

I need help setting up a Power Automate flow to automate the following process in SharePoint:

Trigger:

  • When an item in a SharePoint list is updated, specifically the "TrackingNumber" field.

Actions:

  1. Search: Search a specific folder named "AWBCopy" within a SharePoint document library for PDF files whose names match the value entered in the "TrackingNumber" field. (Note: The "AWBCopy" folder contains only PDF files).
  2. Copy: If a matching PDF file is found, copy it.
  3. Attach: Attach the copied PDF file to the same SharePoint list item, under the "AWBCopy" field.

Additional Questions:

  • What type of field should the "AWBCopy" field in the list be to store the attached PDF file?
  • What properties or settings should be configured for the "AWBCopy" field to ensure the attachment process works correctly?

I'm not sure how to configure the search action to find files based on their name within the specific folder, the attach action to link the file to the list item, and the proper setup for the "AWBCopy" field. Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    HI,

You cannot add a column for "attaching documents", you automatically get that ability to attach to the list (item). So no need to create another column.

As for the other stuff... You clearly didn't do any research, each question is easily answered with a search...

Try to help yourself before us, because it helps you grow, us just writing it doens't at all.

As for the file. You want to use the List files action for SharePoint and add a filter that looks only for PDFs. if thats what you need.

    Hi,

I am trying to get this flow for last 2 weeks with so many tries but no success. Also, i have tried to get support from copilot but could not get through. If you can be able to support, please help to troubleshoot. Note: when i manually check the path from Get file metadata using path even after replace space by %20, i can able to open but i get stuck with this step when i run the flow.  My flow is below,
