Hi Community,
I am new to Power Automate and am trying to figure out the simplest way to scan when specific emails with excel attachments are sent to me. There are around 10 different emails with attachments that have the data that I need.
Here is where I started:
The attachments have names that are not logically trimmable to a good file name.
What I want to do is create the file with a specific name which I can save to my onedrive and read with my Access database . The names of the files will always be the same accept for the date is at the end on one or two. For example, I receive an email with the attachment file name acme_actoxxx_lastweek_445_20201205t4013 and I know that is my active opportunities. I receive other attachments with no date at the end. For example, Acme_lead referral_blahblahblah and this one comes weekly.
I started with a condition statement originally but then realized I can only make 8 conditions and I have 10 so far.
What is the best way to do this?
Can I create a lengthy if statement after I set the variable that allows me to identify the file it is reading and rename it and save the file with that name and file extension? The statement should allow me to check for 10 different files and assign the correct name when Identified I spent a while searching for similar posts and think I am just using the wrong terminology. If you can offer some advice or point me to a entry level resource it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to simplify all the data in my database and how it is received and viewed so I can share with my coworkers.
Thank you for your help in advance and happy holidays!
