Retrieve Yammer Group Insights via API

Hi!

I am trying to create a flow in PA to retrieve the group insights from one of our corporate Yammer groups automatically into a csv file. Ideally it should be an automated cloud flow scheduled to run once a week.

From the Yammer REST API documentation I don't see how to get the group insights. I also tried creating a Power Automate Desktop flow, to basically download the csv file and move it to a SharePoint location. This flow is extremely bumpy and only works 2 out of 10 times due to credential issues, or basically me not being logged into my local computer....

Any other ideas how to get this accomplished without PA Desktop?

Thanks!

    Hi @Fromit

You can try using the Yammer API Connector for Power Automate, which allows you to easily access Yammer data in Power Automate flows without needing to manually configure the API calls. With this connector, you can retrieve group insights data and then use the "Create CSV Table" action to create a CSV file.

    Hi @nitishsh91,

Thank you for your reply. Could you guide me to the correct Yammer Power Automate connector to get group insights, please? I only see the following actions (below), but they do not get me the group insights.

    Thanks!

There is no way to retrieve group insights directly.

One alternative approach you could try is using the Yammer API to retrieve the group's messages and then using Power Automate to process that data and save it in a CSV file.

You could also use Power Automate and the Yammer connector to retrieve messages and other data from a group and then use that data to calculate group insights on your own.

Another alternative approach you could try is using the Microsoft Graph API to access the group insights, by using an app registration to get the access token and use the Microsoft Graph API endpoint to call the group insights.
