Change owner of child record to owner of the parent record (Dataverse)

Hello together,

I try to set up a flow that changes the owner of all existing child records (e.g. Table "Assets") to the owner of the parent Records (e.g. Table "Accounts"). The relationship takes place in the field "Current Owner" which is a lookup N:1 relationship on the asset table to the account table.
Background: When the owner of an account changed in the past there was no inheritance to the child record and I has to clean the mess up.

I think the best way to do this is a manuall flow that list all accounts and all assets. Afterwards there should be an apply to each where it takes each asset and check if the owner of the asset and the account is not the same. If that is the case the owner should be changed.

In my mind it looks clear but I am currently unable to set up the flow correctly.

Could you please help me?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hello FLMike,

I know about this Child Hierarchy topic and will adjust it after I cleaned up the database. But thanks for that information.

    Hi

I will come back in a bit to answer, but one thing that should be looked into is Child Hierarchy, it is exactly for this situation so you aren't manually having to fix them.
