UI Elements Not Working

Hello!

I have a few UI flows that work with only a few bugs here or there, but one that comes up somewhat often is UI elements not working properly.

Currently I have a flow that is going into Excel and opening a file. It should open Excel > File tab > Open tab > Search file name in Search bar.

This used to work fine, however now the search step fails because the mouse clicks to the left of the UI selected search bar. I've have tried reassigning the search bar as a UI element multiple times with no luck of fixing the issue. Is there something else I need to be doing or are the UI elements just not reliable? I've seen this on my other flows as well but figured its finally time to post it in here and try to figure this out. Thanks in advance! NOTE: I am on the latest version of PAD.

    Hi @Anonymous

For interacting with Excel there will be no need to use the Mouse clicks and Sendkeys.

Directly access the Excel using the "Launch Excel" action to open a new file or attach to an existing file.

    Thank you for your answer!

For this flow, I can't/haven't been able to use 'Launch Excel' because I am using Analysis for Office and for some reason 'Launch Excel' does not launch with the AFO extension so my work around is to use the control panel, but then I run into my current problem. Any solution ideas for this situation?

Does the add-in load with "Run application"?

And also can you look for different command line switches for loading an addin while starting Excel from command line.

When I use the Run application step in the flow the add-in does load with Excel.

I'll try looking into the command line switch thing, I'm not super familiar with it.

    Hi @Anonymous

I read somewhere about a switch called /a.

But since you mentioned you are able to load the addin using Run application then you won't need the switch.

    Use Run application

and Attach to already open excel (available in Launch Excel).
