Hi,
In a model driven app, can I change the default landing page for a model driven app.
Currently the home link is the first item on the menu.
Question: Can I change the home link ?

The landing page is determined by the order of the subarea items in the sitemap designer. You can drag and drop them to set the order. This applies to entities and dashboards.

Is it possible to hide menu links using javascript/css ?
It seems that the landing page of an app is determined by the first item in the site map - correct?
This seems to make the Home button redundant - or is there something I am missing?
Thankfully Microsoft agrees with this train of thought. In the modern app designer view we now have the option to turn off the Home, Recent and Pinned icons:
