Approval Action - Error

I spent a couple hours yesterday changing my Approval actions so they were original and not V2. I tested all day yesterday and today, the approvals were working fine. Then I made a small update to the Flow (Not any of the Approval actions) this afternoon and now all 4 approval branches are throwing the error: The request failed. Error code: 'InvalidApprovalCreateRequestAssignedToMissing'. Error Message: 'Required field 'assignedTo' is missing or empty.'

    Hi @BradySTL , 

     

    Can you try refreshing the connection to Approvals? Delete the current connection and create a new one. 

     

    Can you please share a screenshot of the flow barring any sensitive information? That way we might be able to assist you better!

    I deleted the Approval connection and re-added last week, but then I had to remove all the Approval Actions to get them working again.  Not sure I want to do that again.

     

    How do I attach a screen shot?

    Hi @BradySTL ,

     

    From your error message “Required field 'assignedTo' is missing or empty”, it seems that Assigned to field missed an email address. Please make sure Assigned to field does contain an email address.

     

    I have tested with both the original and V2 approval actions, both of them are working fine.

    Please share a screenshot of your flow. In Reply mode, click the Camera icon to upload a picture from your local device.

    Hello,

     

    I tested the flow this morning without viewing or editing. It worked. I am using People Picker's for the Assigned To. Maybe there is an issue on the backend with the People Picker not always getting the email.  I will continue to test today and provide updates if there are additional issues.

    No changes to the flow and the second test failed with the same errors.  Does MIcrosoft review these posts?

    Hi @BradySTL ,

     

    It seems that all the parallel branches are set up in the same way.

     

    Could you share a detailed screenshot on one parallel branch to help reproduce this issue?

     

    The error message just says that Assigned to field is empty. Please make sure the People picker column does return a valid email address for the Assigned to field. Besides, from where do you get the dynamic content for this field?
