PowerBI Refresh

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have used the available template to link twitter-->text analytics-->powerbi(create record)-->powerbi(refresh). All the connections are fine and there are no errors/issues. In the above scenario, any time a new tweet is posted for a certain #, that tweet goes through text analytics(for sentiment analysis) and then is pushed into a streaming dataset in PBI.

Even though the connections are fine and no issues are seen, I see only a few random tweets appearing in my PBI report. There should be atleast a few 100 tweets that should reflect in the report but I am able to see only about 10 or so.

How do I debug this issue? I am not on a premium plan so I don't have access to any logs for flow.

    Hi Vinay1,

Thank you for your post. I would suggest to start by checking the run history for this specific Flow in effort to see if the Flow is being triggered when the tweet criteria is met. You should be able to review the run history by browsing to the details page for the specific Flow and clicking “All runs” at the bottom of the page.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you,

    Rory

    Hi @RoryL ,

I have checked the runs yesterday and today. It shows one or two runs per hour which is very less.

There are at least a total of ten if not a hundred tweets on the sample trend topic that I am using.

    Thanks,

    Vinay

    Hi Vinay,

Thank you for your reply. The issue you are experiencing would typically be caused by the trigger criteria for the Flow. If you compare the trigger details with the Twitter posts, does the post detail match the trigger criteria?

There are some limits to consider for the connector too such as the maximum number of search results for a post when using your search criteria. More information about these are available here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/twitter/. If this is a possible cause, you could always try to be more specific with the search query details to see if this helps to resolve the problem.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you,

    Rory
