Hi Team,

We are trying to use the click on the download link on web page to get the path of the downloaded file. For that it is not supported by any browser, but "automation browser". Now the "automation browser" is available only internet explorer. So I have that installed. Now when I am trying launch a "Automation Browser" the specified URL is not opening in it. Can you help me in getting this "Automation Browser" working?

So it is not working with all websites. Somehow the google.com URL opens in it. But other URLs don't open in it. Is there a setting which I have to do so that the URLs open?

@Nived_Nambiar Can you help in this? If not can you loop in anyone who can help me in this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @gaurav-cointab

Afaik - The automation browser is a streamlined version of the IE version shipped with PAD. It is not the same as Internet Explorer or Edge; it's a different built-in app. It lacks many features and might not work with modern sites. For that reason, I moved away - too many sites were not working correctly with it.

I find Chrome works the best for automating file downloads, but in general, that works for all browsers:

    1. Configure the browser always to ask where to save the file

    2. Automate the "save as" windows. After your action that triggers the download:

    - wait for save as a window

    - update the filename (you can use the full path to save to any location, including network/unc path)

    - click OK

Alternatively, if you prefer the browser to save to the downloads folder permanently:

    - configure the browse, so it permanently saves files to downloads without prompting for name/location

    - before you trigger the download: get files in the downloads folder to list1

    - trigger the action that will save the file

    - get files in downloads to list2

    - use list action to subtract both lists - you will end up with 1 item on the list, which will be the file that got downloaded
