Set recurrence start time using a flow

(1) ShareShare

Good morning,

I need to know if there is a way to set a start time on a recurrence of one flow using another flow.

What I want to do:

One flow scans the start time of the next shift. this start time should be the start time of another flow.

Problem:

I cannot find a trigger "a shift starts" or another way to set a reccurence start time.

If there is still a post, I am sorry because of my bad english. Maybe you can send me a link. Thanks a lot 🙂

    Hi, Phil

From where and how do you read the shift?

    Hello Serbay,

I read the shifts using action "List all Shifts" in power automate, put them in an array variable and filter it.

Maybe I only need a trigger "when a shift starts"

    Hi Phil,
Solution to that, If you have already a flow which captures the start date from shift, then you could create a Solution, and in the solution, create a parent flow and a child flow. Then once start time is equal the current time you could call the child flow.
Go to Solutions tab, create a flow (child flow) with Manual Trigger, then add Run a child flow action at the end of your parent flow.
Use your flow which scans the start time as a parent flow and then call the other one as a child flow.
    As an example,

Additionally, at the end of your child flow, please add "Respond to a PowerApp or Flow" action.

Please let me know, if this method will solve your issue.

    Regards,
    Serbay

Is "Run a Child Flow" a premium feature? I cannot find it

    Hi Phil,
    You should be able to see the action if you follow this;
Go to solutions in the left panel -> click new solution -> Click created solution -> Then Click New -> Cloud Flow

Maybe I am too stupid for this. I am sorry. But i cannot find run a child flow action. The whole category "Flows" is missing.

I am unable to upload the screenshot.

    Hi Phil,

You will see the action, if you create your flows under solution.
Otherwise you will not. Please follow the instructions in my previous message.

    Regards,

    Serbay
