Child-Flows reverting to run only users

I'm building a solution with several child-flows in a test environment. Every time I save a child-flow, it changes over the connections to 'provided by run-only user' which upsets the parent and doesn't allow me to publish the changes.
However, everything works fine if I select myself as the connection.

How do I set myself as the connection so it sticks? Do I want that to be the case once it goes into production?

What is the run only user setting for the Parent flow that is doing the call?  If that is set to use a specific connection then the child flow will run in that connection.  So then it won't matter.

I have run into this issue recently as well. It seems the Dataverse connection is fine, but the Office 365 Outlook connection constantly resets to 'provided by run-only user'. I can't speak to the other connections used by the OP, but it is especially a problem with Outlook because the child flow needs this connection to be set otherwise it will fail to run.

I'm also living the same problem. The child flow runs properly. Then I need to adjust the flow, then the connection fails in a way that is pretty inconsistant as I'm using the same connection in  another flow of the same solution and they don't fail... Anyway, I refresh the connection. Then I publish the child flow changes and the flow will revert to "provided by run-only user". I will then have to change it.

I think it has to do with the connection, but why are all of the connection reverting, not only the one I updated? Why did it revert is also a great concern and is very annoying as it adds a new step when troubleshooting the connection problem

-edit : could also happen when you play with the connection in an action inside the flow then publish

@Pstork1 Where would you set this property? I don't have any such settings available when using the action "Run a Child flow".

The run only user setting is in the Details of the Flow itself, not the Action to run the Child flow.  The default setting is to use the connection provided by the user that triggers the flow. But if the parent flow is set to use a specific connection then the child flow set to default will use the same connection.

Just bumping this post up, have the same issue with a solution Im currently working on. Everytime i Publish my 3 connections resets from "Use this connection xxx" to "Provided by run-only user" and I have to set it.

While testing this is.... annoying and today alone I have set them 20 times :(

I have experienced this also. I just go in and update the run-only user connections after every update. It seems like a bug Microsoft needs to resolve.

I am also having this issue in Feb 2025, so it seems Microsoft is not going to address this? Having to recheck the connections every time I update a flow is time consuming!

Same thing here. I have a solution with 23 flows and sometimes the "Connections Used" reset to "Provide by run-only user".
    It's very annoying wen developing!
