Outlook calendar event to Todoist Task - due date/time format

Hi all,

I am new to Flow and trying to connect Outlook calendar to the Todoist app.

My only problem is the due date/time is not recognized by Todoist and as a result, all tasks are set up with a due date of '(next day) 12am'.

I found another thread where someone was using the 'Compose' action to format the Outlook due date/time in the right format but I need help to set this up properly.

Thank you

    Hi @benb,

Thanks for feedback. I can reproduce this issue on my side. When an all-day event is created in Outlook calendar, the task due date on Todoist will be of next day.

However, if it is not an all-day event, the due date will be created on Todoist without issues.

To create all-day event on Todoist correctly, please use the following code, it will return the correct date and time:

    addDays(triggerBody()?['End'],-1)

Please take a try with it on your side.

    Hi Mabel,

I never checked 'All day event' in Outlook, yet the resulting task in Todoist is always set at '(Event Date) 12:00 AM'.

Also, how to avoid having multiple tasks created for the same Outlook event?

    Thanks for your help.

I have the same issue, ToDoist always defaults to 12AM regardless of the start time I set in Outlook Calendar. I contacted ToDoist support and they suggested I check the timezone settings in each device I use ToDoist, Microsoft Flow, and Outlook. I confirmed they are all the same but didn't help.

A MS Flow Engineer solved the issue for me by converting the apparently default UTC time zone of Outlook to my own location time zone of Central Time. After converting the time, capture the output of that action using a Compose Action and finally inheriting the output of the Compose Action to the Due Date field of the Create a task in ToDoist. Now I have the correct start time showing in ToDoist. Hope this helps.

    Hi pete_g,

First, thanks for taking the time to post this here, much appreciated.

I tried to reproduce exactly your flow (except that I chose UTC-05:00 Eastern Time under Convert Time Zone / Format String).

However, when testing the flow, I get the following error message:

'InvalidTemplate.  Unable to process template language expressions for action 'Convert_time_zone' at line '1' and column '2541': 'In the template language function 'converttimezone', the value provided for the time zone id 'Full date/time patter (short time) - Monday, June 15, 2009 1:45 PM (f)' was not valid. '.

If you have any clue what could be the issue, or if you could pass the contact of the engineer who assisted you, that would be terrific.

    Thanks,

    Ben
