What is the difference between Version and PowerApps Release number ? Just wanted to know in which situation, the PowerApps release number get created.
In above image, sometime release number is same and different.
In that screenshot version relates to the version of the app you created. A new version is created every time you edit and save the app. The release number is the version of Power Apps that you were using when you edited and saved that version of the app. They are not related.
Actually my client is asking, when the Power Apps release version number getting created. Is it best practice to track Power Apps release version number instead of version number for deployment purpose ?
The Power Apps release number is created by Microsoft when they roll out a new version of Power Apps. Unless you have an issue with a particular version there is no reason to track the Power Apps release number because it will update to the latest version when you open any version for editing. If there is a problem you can downgrade the editor and open the app in a specific version. But that is a temporary fix at best. Microsoft tracks the various releases here: Released versions for Power Apps - Release Notes | Microsoft Learn
